Narrator of [The Sourcebooks Shakespeare], Sir Derek Jacobi

Sir Derek Jacobi (Series Narrator) is one of Britain’s foremost actors of stage and screen. One of his earliest Shakespearean roles was Cassio to Sir Laurence Olivier’s Othello in Stuart Burge’s 1965 movie production. More recent roles include Hamlet in the acclaimed BBC Television Shakespeare production in 1980, the Chorus in Kenneth Branagh’s 1989 film of Henry V, and Claudius in Branagh’s 1996 movie Hamlet. He has been accorded numerous honors in his distinguished career, including a Tony award for Best Actor in Much Ado About Nothing and a BAFTA (British Academy of Film and Television) for his landmark portrayal of Emperor Claudius in the blockbuster television series I, Claudius. He was made a Knight of the British Empire in 1994 for his services to the theatre.
